QPerf
is a Java application that actively measures
network quality. Network quality is not just
about download and upload speeds. It's about
how well the network transports packets. If
a large number of packets are dropped, or
packets are delivered intermittently critical
network applications such as SAP and real-time
network applications such as voice and video
can be a bad experience for end users in remote
locations.
You shouldn't
rely on your carriers or router vendor's report
for network quality. They only see a part
of your network. QPerf can measure quality
from the end-user through the entire network
to your data center. Because QPerf is an active
measurement taking snapshots 24 hours a day,
you don't have to wait until a user starts
experiencing issues to be cognizant of network
problems.
